An Education for the Future

Middle school is a time of immense potential, when students have the opportunity to discover their gifts, develop social and emotional intelligence, evolve intellectually and physically, and form an authentic sense of self.

The Spring Hill Middle School program is based in developmental science—understanding what kids at this stage of life are ready for psychologically and neurologically, then working with those motivations to help them thrive academically.

Our developmental approach incorporates the three core motivators for middle school students:

  • Learning is personal — teaching them about themselves and challenging them to reach their potential
  • Learning is social — experiencing interaction with peers and building social intelligence
  • Learning is relevant — connecting curriculum to real-life contexts where the value of the work is clear

Curriculum

Our exceptional Middle School curriculum integrates humanities, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math), Spanish, and physical education. Signature programs include makers, design thinking, global studies and service learning, leadership, public speaking, visual and performing arts, and music.

Across curriculum, our masterful teachers work to ensure every student is appropriately supported and challenged. They create a learning environment grounded in:

  • Collaboration
  • Communication
  • Content
  • Critical Thinking
  • Creativity & Innovation
  • Confidence

Spring Hill students are engaged and committed to their own learning. Because our curriculum and learning environment target their internal motivations in developmentally appropriate ways, our students build multi-dimensional understanding and respect for the content and process of their education. We believe it is our responsibility to build a community of students who can reach their potential and become lifelong learners.

  • Research-based, integrated STEAM curriculum
  • Low student-teacher ratios
  • Art, music, PE, Spanish, and Public Speaking specialists
  • Global service learning and community projects
  • Social-emotional focus on empathy, leadership, and collaboration

Middle school is a time of immense potential, when students have the opportunity to discover their gifts, develop social and emotional intelligence, evolve intellectually and physically, and form an authentic sense of self.

With adolescent development at its peak, our program helps students find a balance between social and after school activities while staying focused on advanced academic study. Our goal is to offer an education that builds a community of students who can reach their unique potential, be innovative leaders, and become lifelong learners. We value resiliency and creative confidence.

Our program is project based and draws strongly on STEAM and design thinking. Students establish critical thinking, empathy, and problem solving skills to help them become our future innovators.
