Meet Eric Saibel, Spring Hill's New Head of School


The Spring Hill School is delighted to announce that Eric Saibel has been appointed the next Head of School, following an extensive and thoughtful search process. Eric brings a distinguished 27-year career in education, marked by leadership roles that have fostered dynamic and student-centered learning environments.

About Eric Saibel

Eric Saibel is an experienced educator and leader who has served as a teacher, coach, and school administrator in arin County. Most recently, he held the position of Director of Student Services. He is passionate about fostering trust, inclusion, and strong community connections to create an environment where students thrive.

In addition to his administrative experience, Eric co-founded Global School Play Day, a movement advocating for free play now in over 80 countries with more than two million participants since 2015. As Principal of Hall Middle School, he led the school to become Marin’s first School to Watch and an ESEA National Distinguished School.

A Bay Area native, Eric holds degrees from UC Santa Cruz, CSU Hayward, and San Francisco State. He resides in Marin with his wife and two daughters, and in his free time, he enjoys the outdoors, sports, painting, and coaching youth teams.

Reflecting on his appointment, Eric shared, "I am honored, humbled, and thrilled to be joining The Spring Hill School. From my first interactions with the community, I felt a deep connection to the school’s dynamic environment, its dedicated staff, and the engaged students and families. I look forward to building upon the strong foundation already in place and working collaboratively to ensure a joyful, empowering, and inspiring educational experience for every student."

Eric will begin his transition this summer, engaging with students, faculty, and parents to gain insights and shape the vision for the future. His leadership will build upon the school’s commitment to fostering curiosity, creativity, and academic excellence.
